We offer state-approved training programs designed to enhance safety, quality of care, and behavioral support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
CPR/First Aid Certification
This course provides hands-on and online instruction in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic First Aid, focused on emergency response for adults, children, and infants.
Includes:- CPR for all ages
- Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- First aid for common injuries and medical emergencies
- Certification valid for 2 years (HSI or American Heart Association recognized)
Article 9 Training
This mandatory course covers Arizona’s behavioral intervention regulations (Article 9), emphasizing the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Includes:- A requirement of the Arizona Administrative Code (including sanctions)
- Specific to the Division of Developmental Disabilities
- Teaching techniques that are allowed/prohibited
- Rights of the people we support
Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Training
PBS training equips caregivers and staff with tools to understand, prevent, and respond to challenging behaviors in a respectful, safe, and person-centered way.
Includes:- Identifying the function of behavior
- Creating supportive environments
- De-escalation strategies
- Reinforcement and redirection techniques
- Supporting communication and choice-making
